I honestly thought it was the new Chloe EDT, which I have a deluxe sample of and wear from time to time. I received it in Karl's version, the frosted bottle, and it smells so powdery and innocent, exactly as I remember it from early 90's. This is my favorite scent, and I wish it was still in production. Why, oh why, do perfumers do this? It opens with bright aldehydic peach and floral galore. Green and soapy at first with a big dose of aldehydes and hyacinth. It's from the year it came out. Chloé It's warm and such a magical scent, they don't do it anymore like that nowadays. It did not wear HER. I didn't have it on long enough to allow it to get me nauseous or give me a headache but it is the type of fragrance that would do it to me. I brought this right back to the store. I generally like spicy-warm perfumes but I'd like to try something new. The original was great for her time. The opening is a little harsh but as we know by now - I ignored that and continued with my business. This is an amazing scent! Do I think it is pretty in a loud white floral sort of way? She told me this is the only scent she has ever worn as she has problems with finding perfumes that don't give her a headache. I miss this beautiful fragrance here, in Uruguay. It stays on clothing very nicely. I first tried this in winter, because my mom used to wear it, and it was a headache inducing nightmare. Huge longevity. It is the original and smells so lush with the slight siren call of the tuberose, but it is not nearly as overwhelming as Fracas. Say it all without saying a word, with this fragrance of seduction that goes beyond words! The lilac and orris roots gives the powdery undertone which is quite a soft and delicate character. I don't immediately smell 'white flowers" I smell more yellow/pink flowers if that makes sense. A little goes a long was, as do most vintages, esp from that era. Overwhelmed, is more like. :). Because Im a male I personally dont wear this but a girl I was just in an elevator with was and I loved it on her. It's a mature white flowers round smell, its sweet but not sticky vanilla-cotton candy kinda sweet. I still have a bottle and when I can't sleep, I spray it on my pillow. Poème pour Chloé. This one is a classic. I really dislike the new Chloe, but this version is delightful. The original Karl Lagerfeld pour homme in its current formulation suffers from the same issues as this one. The scent is retro-fabulous! I wore this and Anais Anais a lot. Back when I was in 7th grade and sitting in science class. Now I see the pyramid - it was tuberose mixed with RIPE peach. A bit old fashioned maybe for some, but I love that sort of fragrance, if I didn't have such a large bottle of ET Emeralds and half a bottle of Avon Rare Gold perhaps I could justify purchasing a bottle. I really hate it for those who don't smell it like I do. And with it being a splash/dab on bottle, it's easy to apply with a light hand so as not to be radiating a sillage cloud that can fill a room. It has a vintage aura that makes me feel pretty in a retro, red lipstick, sorta way. Everything was just too much, too heavy, and very poorly blended. I've tried Chloe several times and it's generally better for me in the summer when I'm a bit more sweaty and oily. This time I treated myself to the vintage by Karl Lagerfeld. par Salus I completely fell in love with it. This may not be your idea of a hipster scent , but I think it is the most feminine perfume I have ever owned . Completely agree with you. My immediate thoughts were that this was too "old". To think that this is the Coty Prestige version, I can only imagine the depth of sweetness of the original version. Waaayyy too strong for daily wear. I found a gift set of the reformulated version at Marshalls on clearance with a bottle of the edp and the body lotion. I can remember sitting in the bathroom watching her put on her makeup and teasing her hair, cigarette leaving a trace of nicotine on the edge of the sink, and her fussing that she forgot she left it there. The scent I experienced was nothing like I remembered. (btw, she loves that she can now buy this at a drugstore at a great price! Absolutely.
